'London Has Fallen' Trailer Blows The Holy Hell Out Of The U.K.

If you’re surprised that the 2013 Whitehouse-under-siege actioner Olympus Has Fallen is getting a sequel, you’re not alone, but that doesn’t mean London Has Fallen isn’t happening. The Gerard Butler-starring follow up recently got delayed and pushed to a less-than-optimal release date, but it still sounds right up our alley, a point driven home by this quick new teaser trailer.

You’ve got explosions, gunplay, the hero dangling out of a car and still managing to shoot straight, what more do you want? It’s only one movie after all. And that sad, slow, maudlin version of “London Bridge is Falling Down” is fucking hysterical. I’m in, I’m so in.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The story picks up in London, where the British Prime Minister has died under mysterious circumstances and his funeral is a must-attend event for leaders of the Western world. What starts out as the most protected event on Earth turns into a deadly plot to kill the world’s most powerful leaders and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States of America Benjamin Asher  his formidable Secret Service lead agent Mike Banning , and a British MI6 agent who rightly trusts no one

London Has Fallen stars Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman, all reprising their roles from the first film, and the cast also includes Melissa Leo, Radha Mitchell, Angela Bassett, Jackie Earle Haley, and Robert Forester. The Babak Najafi (Easy Money 2: Hard to Kill) directed action flick blows up London on January 22, 2016.
