Scott Adkins And Marko Zaror Actioner 'Savage Dog' Drops A Period Appropriate Poster

I’m always game for a new Scott Adkins movie. And I’m always game for a new Marko Zaror movie. Put them together, like in the upcoming period actioner Savage Dog, and I start salivating like, well, a hungry dog. Currently in production, a new marketing poster for the film appeared on the airwaves. Check it out below.

Scott Adkins shared the poster on his Facebook page, and though it doesn’t reveal much we don’t already know about Savage Dog, it looks suitably badass.

Written and directed by Jesse V. Johnson (Pit Fighter, Green Street Hooligans 2, and stunt work on a ton of pictures), Savage Dog takes place in Indochina in 1958. As the tagline on the poster says, “The French have left, the Americans have yet to arrive. But one man has declared war.” That’s really all the plot we know, but anytime one man wants to declare war, there’s a solid chance I’ll watch the result.

Connoisseurs of this particular brand of gritty, bone-breaking, direct to video action know Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror are two of the preeminent action stars currently working in the world. It’s great to see them team up again after Undisputed 3. Between these guys and Johnson’s stunt background, the action promises to deliver just what fans want.

But Savage Dog sweetens the pot even more. Juju Chan, star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny—not to mention a Muay Thai champion, Tae Kwon Do black belt, and rising action star in her own right—joins the party. As does MMA fighter turned cinematic face puncher, Cung Le (The Man with the Iron Fists, Pandorum). General badass, Keith David (The Thing) gets in on the fun, as do the likes of Sheena Chou (Shanghai Hotel), Aki Aleong (Pound ofFlesh), and Vladimir Kulich (The Equalizer). All in all, Johnson and company have put together a solid package of ass kickery.

At the moment Savage Dog still finds itself somewhere along the production line, so we don’t have a hard and fast release date outside of 2017. But just knowing we have this to look forward to is enough to put a smile on my face in an otherwise droll, dull world.
