Scott Adkins' Space Prison Movie 'Incoming' Has A Poster, The Dream Is Real

Does Scott Adkins sleep? Serious question. Because the dude always has like 5000 projects in the works. And I want to see all of them because they all involve him kicking people in the face. But sometimes there are rumblings of one film or another that never materialize. I get it, movies in development don’t always make it to the finish line, especially in the DTV realm in which he plies his trade. About a year ago, we heard tales of an Adkins-fronted sci-fi adventure called Incoming, but that was the last word on the matter. Until today. Now there’s a new poster. Which means this is happening. Which means we’re going to see Scott Adkins pummel villains in space. Which combines most of my favorite things in this world. Or out of this world. (Sorry.)

Sure, this poster (which I ran across at BMD) is not the most attractive thing I’ve ever seen. It does, however, look like the cover of a pulpy sci-fi novel from the mid-1980s, which is exactly what I want Incoming to be.

The plot admittedly sounds a bit like Lockup, which itself got sued for being too much like Escape From New York in space. The plot synopsis hasn’t changed at all, but it still sounds like an excellent vehicle for Adkins kicking the crap out of dudes in zero gravity. (Fingers crossed they have the budget to make that happen.)
The International Space Station is now a prison—the ultimate black site. No one's getting out. And no one knows it's there. But when the imprisoned terrorists take over the Station and turn it into a missile aimed at Moscow, only a shuttle pilot and a rookie doctor can stop them. Their task is complicated by a rogue CIA agent (Scott Adkins) who has his own plans for the station and the terrorists within.
Last we heard, Adkins had joined an already-in-production movie. Since that was almost a year ago, it stands to reason they wrapped up filming in the interim—this isn’t one of those movies with an endless budget and unlimited shooting days.

Perhaps the world’s leading badass face-kicker, Adkins teams up with Alaa Safi, who also appeared with him in Doctor Strange, Aaron McCusker (Dexter), Michelle Lehane (Kill Ratio), Arkie Reece (The Bourne Ultimatum), Milorad Kapor (Skyfall and Lockout actually—dude digs space prison), and Dominic Power (Unforgotten, which isn’t a word). Long-time assistant director Eric Zaragoza makes his feature directorial debut overseeing the whole shebang.

There’s a December 2018 release date listed for Incoming, so, get ready for a brief respite of sci-fi ass-kickery in the midst of the end-of-year award season rush. In the meantime, we still have Triple Threat and a slew of other Scott Adkins movies to look forward to.
