'Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker' Trailer Gives You One Last Look At Your Friends

UPDATED: Now with more poster!

ORIGINAL POST: Now that we’re getting a movie every year or so, plus the upcoming streaming shows and the glut of books and comics and other media, it’s a bit less special, but I will never not be excited for Star Wars movie. And the final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits me in all the feelings places. Check it out for yourself below.

When C-3PO says he’s taking one last look at his friends or when Luke says, “The Force will be with you…” and Leia chimes in with, “Always.” Come on. I can only take so much. I’m not made of stone, people.

What is there even to say at this point? The Rise of Skywalker is going to make a billion plus dollars at the box office, despite the goons yelling about how having women and people of color in a movie full of alien creatures ruined the entire world or whatever. It’ll probably be good. It probably won’t be perfect. It probably won’t do everything everyone wants it to do. I’ll probably see it a bunch of times. You probably will, too. And I’ll probably weep like a baby the first time we see Carrie Fisher, every time.

Some of our old favorites are back. (Billy Dee Williams!) Some of our new old favorites are back. (Sad, wet Kylo Ren!) And some new characters will join the party. I still don’t feel good about Palpatine coming back, but that’s something we’ll have to actually see before we can judge.

Yeah, it’s a Star Wars movie. I’m jazzed. If you like, I’m sure you can find posts all over dissecting each and every frame. I’m not going to do that because I’m lazy. Instead, I’m going to sit back, watch this trailer a dozen more times, and mark off the days on my calendar until I can see this.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens everywhere December 20.
