New 'Sicario' Trailer Gets Grim, Denis Villenueve's Latest Will Debut At TIFF

Denis Villenueve’s (Prisoners) Sicario is one we’re definitely stoked for, and it was just announced that it will make it’s North American debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in early September (yet another year I wish I was going to TIFF). To go along with that bit of news, they dropped a grim, tense new trailer for what looks like a grim, tense movie. Check it out below.

Starring Emily Blunt, Josh Brolin, and Benicio Del Toro, Sicario tells the story of an FBI agent who dives headfirst into darkness when the leader of an elite task force recruits her to help battle the Mexican drug cartels. Things get harrowing when a consultant with questionable allegiances leads their secret mission south of the border.

This trailer doesn’t reveal much in the way of new footage or information, but it’s still enough to get your mouth watering at the possibilities. Sicario hits theaters on September 18, shortly after showing at TIFF. Take a look at the trailer for yourself below.
