'No Time To Die' Teaser: Get Your First Look At James Bond's Next Adventure

Sure, the last James Bond movie, Spectre, wasn’t the best entry. Or the best Daniel Craig Bond movie. Or even close. (I’m actually in the minority that I enjoyed it in the moment, though it is purely paint-by-numbers Bond.) That said, I’m always going to be stoked for a new James Bond movie, and that includes the upcoming No Time to Die. Check out our first look at new footage below.

Because we live in the world we do, this is just a teaser of the upcoming trailer, which drops this Wednesday, December 4. Yes, it’s basically a trailer for a trailer. That’s the way things work these days.

There’s not much to this 15-second glimpse of No Time to Die, but it hits all the Bond markers. Cool suits, big action bits, gadgets, hunky dudes, sultry ladies, that music. Basically, this looks like a James Bond movie, and that’s not a bad thing. And, you know, Ana de Armas with two machine guns is always welcome in any movie. I don’t care if it fits or not. Rom-com, period piece, throw it in there.

This time around, James Bond has, yet again, walked away from his spy duties. But when his old CIA pal, Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), asks for a favor, he jumps into the search for a missing scientist. Rami Malek plays the big bad in No Time to Die, and he supposedly has environmental concerns on the mind, as is the trend in Hollywood these days.

I’d be excited for this no matter what—I’ve wanted to be James Bond since I could want to be things. But the fact that Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective) took over the director’s chair has me jazzed up. Danny Boyle was on board at one point, but split due to the oft-cited “creative differences. I love Boyle, but I honestly think this is a better fit. There were rumored issues with the script, which the production solved by bringing in Phoebe Waller-Bridge to punch things up. Also a grand idea.

The full trailer for No Time to Die arrives on Wednesday, and the film hits theaters April 8, 2020.
