This 'Top Gun: Maverick' Featurette Shows The Insane Lengths Tom Cruise Went To Filming This Movie

Because I’m not excited enough about Top Gun: Maverick, they had to go and drop a featurette about Tom Cruise and the rest of the cast flying planes and putting themselves in extreme situations during filming. I find a strange nobility in people putting themselves in harm’s way to entertain. (And yes, I also find a weird beauty in things like Jackass.) Check out this new featurette about just how far Cruise and company were willing to go.

'Top Gun: Maverick' Trailer: Tom Cruise Returns To The Danger Zone

Sometimes a movie is so perfect the world collectively agrees to leave it the hell alone, to not remake it, to not crank out sequels just to squeeze a few more dollars out of a recognizable IP. For years, Top Gun was one of those movies. And sure, a sequel 34 years after the fact is wholly unnecessary, but also, holy shit, Top Gun: Maverick looks fucking awesome. Sorry for the salty language, but it does. Don’t believe me? Check out the latest trailer below.

So, This 'Top Gun: Maverick' Trailer Is Great

Outside of maybe Red Dawn, Top Gun had more of an impact on my life and who I’ve become as a person than any other movie. And that’s saying something, as movies have and continue to define my life to what is probably an unhealthy degree. That said, I always passed off years’ worth of Top Gun 2 rumors as just talk that would never come to fruition. And once it finally became clear a sequel really was going to happen, I assumed it would be a tossed off joke we’d all make fun of for years. But here we are. I just witnessed the first trailer for Top Gun: Maverick, and fuck me, I have a new most-anticipated movie of 2020.

'mother!' Trailer: Jennifer Lawrence Gets Some Terrifying House Guests

A Darren Aronofsky movie, any Darren Aronofsky movie, is enough to get to the theater. The fact that he made a horror thriller, mother!, just sweetens the deal. We saw a quick tease a while back, which is all we really needed. But a full trailer is here, and if you’re into such things, give it a whirl below.

Watch The First Teaser Trailer For Darren Aronofsky's Horror Thriller 'mother!'

We live in a world where even trailers for movies get their own trailers. That’s just a weird fact of life that, rather than being a sign of the end of days as some choose to see it, I just think it’s an odd. And some of them are actually awesome, like this quick tease for Darren Aronofsky’s mother!.

'Run All Night' Movie Review: Messing With Liam Neeson's Family Is Still A Bad Idea

Liam Neeson has now teamed up with director Jaume Collet-Serra three times, and while none of the trio of action-thrillers—Unknown, Non-Stop, and now Run All Night—exactly lit the world on fire, the latest is easily the best of the bunch. There are absolutely no surprises to be found—if you’ve seen the trailers, you know precisely what movie you’re getting—but while it is drastically overlong, if you’re looking for a gritty tale of survival and revenge that feels like it hails from a bygone era, you can do much worse than Run All Night. Solid action and a strong cast elevate the material, which also gains points for the excellent use of a Pogues song.

Watch Liam Neeson Protect RoboCop In This International 'Run All Night' Trailer

It may not be breaking any new ground, but from what we’ve seen so far from Run All Night, it looks right up my alley. Revenge, grizzled old tough guys going head to head, characters who just have to survive through this one night and everything will be okay—it’s not horribly original, but there’s nothing I don’t like here. Adding Ed Harris and Liam Neeson to the mix only sweetens the deal. Check out this new French trailer to see what I’m talking about.

'Run All Night' Sounds Generic But This Trailer Is Awesome

Liam Neeson. Ed Harris. Revenge. Stern man talking. Seriously, I don’t need anything else to get me to see a movie, but this new trailer for Run All Night is right up my alley. There are tough dudes saying tough things, Vincent D’Onofrio as a harried cop, a nameless thug getting choked out on a skeevy bathroom floor, and one long night that never seems to end and changes everything. Sign me up.
