Season One of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian was divisive. Some loved it, others hated it. I’m in the camp that dug the episodic frontier western-in-space vibe. A friend compared it to Kung Fu, and though I wouldn’t have gotten there on my own, it’s an apt comparison. Anyway, Season Two of The Mandalorian will now officially release on October 30 on Disney+, and this news comes with a shiny new trailer.

In This 'Lovecraft Country' Trailer Jordan Peele And J.J. Abrams Haven't Even Gotten To The Real Strange Part
Oh yes, this is the kind of thing we like to see. Big episodic horror from an all-star creative team, with an incredible cast, on a premium network known for major production value. We’ve been waiting for HBO’s Lovecraft Country, produced by Jordan Peele and J.J. Abrams, for a long time. While we won’t get it until August, we finally have our first look at a trailer.

Netflix's 'Locke & Key' Trailer Brings Joe Hills Incredible Horror Comic To Life
Written by Joe Hill, who just so happens to be the son of horror legend Stephen King, Locke & Key is one of the best comics in recent memory, horror or otherwise. It’s also been a cursed project in terms of adaptations. But finally, against all odds, and after an absurd number of tries, it’s coming to Netflix and this new trailer looks incredible.

HBO Orders 'Maniac Cop' Series From Nicolas Winding Refn And John Hyams
Nicolas Winding Refn has been talking about a Maniac Cop remake for years. Back in 2015 it was as a movie he would produce from Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning director John Hyams. Even then, he’d been talking about that since 2012. That version never materialized and despite periodic rumblings, we all assumed it was one of the many, many potential projects he expounds on that would never happen—it’s a regular occurrence. But here we are, in the year of our lord 2019, and there’s news that HBO is going to let Refn turn Maniac Cop into a series. And the world sucks a little bit less for the moment.

Jordan Peele's 'The Twilight Zone' Trailer Brings Tales Of Supernatural Terror
Well, I apparently need to get CBS All Access now. Why you may ask? Because of Jordan Peele’s reboot of The Twilight Zone, that’s why. What convinced me? Other than Jordan Peele rebooting Twilight Zone? This trailer, that’s what.

Watch The Trailer For Park Chan-Wook's 'The Little Drummer Girl' Series
Anytime Park Chan-wook does anything, I’m there. The same generally goes for any John le CarrĂ© adaptation. But the Oldboy director adapting the master spy novelist is too good a proposition to ignore. I’ve been eagerly waiting for Park’s version of the espionage thriller The Little Drummer Girl, and this new trailer has what I’m looking for.

'Ad Vitam' Trailer: 'Raw' Star Garance Marillier Tries To Live Forever In This French Sci-Fi Series
Some schools of thought posit striving for immortality and
finding ways to stave off death as the driving force behind everything we as
the human race do. Regardless of the veracity of that stance, it’s also formed
a key component of science fiction as a genre. That includes the trailer for
the new French sci-fi thriller series Ad Vitam, where people
live well past 100 and that stars Raw breakout Garance
Marillier. Take a peek after the jump, it looks like a damn fine time.

'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 2 Trailer Lights A Fire
The first season of Hulu’s The Handmaid’sTale was not only grim and timely and captured the attention of
audiences and end-of-year awards voters for those very reasons, it also
encapsulated the entire narrative from Margaret Atwood’s 1985 dystopian novel.
Basically, the young series is in uncharted water from here on out. Where
season 2 goes remains to be seen, but we have our first look at the upcoming
episodes in this new trailer.

Park Chan-Wook Will Adapt John Le Carre's 'The Little Drummer Girl'
It makes such an insane amount of sense, yet somehow I never
thought about it until right this very moment, but Park Chan-wook adapting a
John le Carre novel sounds like a perfect meeting of the minds. And just to be
clear, that’s what’s happening. The South Korean hit machine signed on to adapt
The Little Drummer Girl in a six-part adaptation. If six
hours of Park Chan-wook doing John le Carre doesn’t sound like the best way to
spend six hours, we probably wouldn’t be friends in real life.

'Jean-Claude Van Johnson' Trailer: Jean-Claude Van Damme Used To Be Super Famous
December 15 is shaping up to be one hell of a day.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens, Beyond Skyline opens, and now Amazon is going to drop Jean-Claude Van Johnson, the meta action-comedy series that imagines Jean-ClaudeVan Damme’s entire acting career as a cover for his true calling, international
assassin. To celebrate, there’s a new trailer. Yeah, the pilot’s great, this
trailer’s great, I have high hopes.

HBO Green Lights 'True Detective' Season 3 And It Sounds Awesome
This morning, my Twitter timeline is full of people
defending season two of HBO’s True Detective, something I
don’t think I’ve ever witnessed before. Why today of all days, you might ask?
Well, because last night, the cable giant announced their plans for
True Detective season three, and they sound incredible. So
everyone is crapping all over season two and the supporters have valiantly
chosen to defend the much-maligned arc’s honor.

San Diego Comic-Con Trailers For 'Thor: Ragnarok,' 'Ready Player One,' 'Stranger Things,' And More
San Diego Comic-Con went down this past weekend, and since the
focus is all about TV and movies rather than funny books, it arrived with a
tidal wave of trailers, posters, and other assorted promotional goodies for
upcoming blockbusters and highly anticipated television shows. Here are some of
the bigger and better trailer offerings, and just some of the things I’m most
excited for. There are more, but these are the ones I like.

'Automata' Trailer: Check Out This Alternate Reality Sci-Fi Noir
Alternate reality sci-fi noir. That phrase alone is enough
to catch my attention and pique my interest. It also happens to be the set up
for Van Alan’s new series Automata. Check out the new
trailer below. I'm so down with this.

New 'The Handmaid's Tale' Trailer Is A Damn Scorcher
I cancelled my Hulu subscription recently. There’s great
stuff available, but between other services and an increasing lack of free
time, I simply didn’t use it enough to justify another expense. But I think I
jumped the gun, based largely on The Handmaid’s Tale. Their adaptation
of Margaret Atwood’s all-too-plausible dystopian nightmare already had my
attention, but holy hell, this new trailer is all of the fire emojis.

'Idris Elba: Fighter' Trailer: It Might Hurt
Two things I love: watching people get kicked in the face
and Idris Elba. Put them together and what do you have? The new Discovery
series Idris Elba: Fighter. Check out the first trailer and
try to contain yourself. This is going to rule.

'The Handmaid's Tale' Trailer Intends To Survive
Hulu’s upcoming adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s speculative
fiction classic, The Handmaid’s Tale, couldn’t be timed any
better. Unless maybe it debuted late next week. We’ve seen a few stills, but
today brings our first look at actual footage. Check out the first trailer
below.

'The Handmaid's Tale': Take A First Look At Hulu's Margaret Atwood Adaptation Starring Elisabeth Moss
Earlier this year I reread Margaret Atwood’s speculative
fiction masterwork The Handmaid’s Tale. It had been a while,
but I was struck by how prescient and immediate and current the 1985 novel felt.
People are fond of debating which fictional dystopia we’re going to wind up
with—the frontrunners are always George Orwell’s 1984 and Aldous
Huxley’s Brave New World (though the current landscape
certainly feels like a synthesis of the two).

Watch This 'Red Dwarf' Season 11 Trailer And Try Not To Get Too Giddy
Red Dwarf is hands down my all-time
favorite TV show in the history of forever. Nothing even comes close. Multiple
times in my life I’ve spent 24 hours or more doing nothing but sitting on a
couch watching endless episodes of Red Dwarf. A British
sci-fi sitcom, what’s not to love? From this is may be rather obvious that the
prospect of a new series excites the living hell out of me. A trailer for
Red Dwarf XI just blasted into the stratosphere, and I
couldn’t be giddier.

Idris Elba Is Going To Kick Everyone In The Face On TV
Idris Elba is a total badass. For all the talk, I hope he
doesn’t become the next James Bond, not because I give two shits what color a fictional
spy’s skin is, but because I want him to keep doing other awesome stuff and not
be tied to one character for years at a time (he’s already on the Dark
Tower chain). Awesome stuff like a new documentary series where he’s
going to train to be a professional fighter and actually climb in the ring.
