The First 'Creed' Trailer Is Intense And Powerful

The last time star Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler got together we got Fruitvale Station, and now we’re getting Creed, which appears to be a little bit spinoff, a little bit sequel to Rocky Balboa, which is something I’ll always watch and be excited about. Dropping later this fall, the film just released its first trailer, and it looks fantastic.

Focusing on Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis Johnson (Jordan), Creed follows his struggles to become a boxer and a good man, as he enlists the help of his pop’s old pal Rocky Balboa (SylvesterStallone). While it doesn’t appear that this is going to be a totally Rocky-centric Rocky movie, there is enough for fans of the pugilistic saga to cling to, most notably the reference to the Rocky/Apollo fight at the end of Rocky 3, as well as a few other nods.

Creed opens everywhere November 25. It looks great, and the few people who have laid eyes on it have backed this up. Check out the trailer below.
