Check Out 'Headshot' Director Timo Tjahjanto's Creepy New Horror Film 'May The Devil Take You'

After pummeling audiences about the head, neck, and face in 2016 with Headshot, which I called one of the angriest action movies I’ve ever seen, Timo Tjahjanto, also known as one-half of the Mo Brothers, returns to his horror roots with May the Devil Take You. I have no idea what it’s about, but the director teased us with a quick glimpse, and I’m way, way, way, way down.

The director Tweeted this quick peek at May the Devil Take You and added a follow up, “If you got no idea what the hell is this about; then I did alright.” Like I said, even after watching this, I have no clue what it’s about. I don’t know who’s in it, I don’t know any plot details, but I sure as hell want to find out.

What we see here is haunting, spooky, and off-kilter, full of creepy imagery. Maybe there’s some demonic stuff going on—those runes and what looks like a salt circle certainly makes it appear someone is trying to summon a demon or spirit or something nasty of that ilk.

Outside of this, there’s not much information to be found on May the Devil Take You. This video says “Coming Soon,” but exactly when remains a mystery.

Timo Tjahjanto also has other irons in the fire. He’s working on The Night Comes for Us, an action thriller about an enforcer caught in the middle of a gang war that stars Joe Taslim, Iko Uwais, Julie Estelle, Sunny Pang, and Zack Lee. Yes, please, this basically sounds like my perfect movie—he probably just reached into my brain and pulled it out.

That’s reportedly in post production, so maybe it will drop before Devil. But who knows? Either way, I’m jacked up for both of these films, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for news on each front. As soon as I know anything, I’ll share it with you fine folks and bots.
