'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' Movie Review

At the tail end of last summer, director Wes Ball dropped yet another adaptation of yet another dystopian young adult novel into our laps with The Maze Runner, and, much to the surprise of many, it was a blast. Not as good as The Hunger Games movies by a good margin, it is a damn sight better than the Divergent films. Made on the cheap, it was also a highly profitably endeavor, and now the sequel, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, is here in the same slot to continue the saga of a bunch of amnesiac teenage boys.

'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' Cranks Out A Chaotic New Trailer

It may not be as good, overall, as The Hunger Games, but the first installment of The Maze Runner series is entertaining, if a little light, and a damn sight better than either of the Divergent movies. The second chapter, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is on its way later this year, and they just dropped and action-heavy new trailer. I’m not going to like, it looks a little like Terminator meets The Goonies. Check it out below.

'The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' Trailer Is Nonstop Action And Peril

When it was released last summer, The Maze Runner was a surprise to many. Not only was it a hit, bigger than the much more expensive, much crappier Divergent, but it was actually good. (I read James Dashner’s dystopian young adult novel and remember not enjoying it, but thinking it would make a decent movie. And then it did, I’m like Nostradamus.) Profitable as it was, everyone wants a YA sci-fi franchise, and as such, the sequel, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, hits later this year and just dropped a new trailer. Check it out below.
