Scott Adkins Kicks Cartel Ass In This 'Close Range' Trailer

Any time there’s news about a Scott Adkins movie, that’s a big day for me. He’s one of the premiere cinematic badasses currently working anywhere in the world, and he’s responsible for some of the best gritty, old school actioners of the last few years. When he teams with director Isaac Florentine, that’s even better, as the two have teamed up on such modern classics as Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear and Undisputed 3. Now they’re back with Close Range, and you can check out a brand new trailer after the jump.

There is certainly a level of cheesiness to be found here in the dialogue, more inline with older DTV actioners than Florentine’s usual output, but the action is totally awesome, and features Adkins climbing up walls, thrashing countless goons, and kicking (maybe scuttling over) a moving truck. I’m 100% in.

The story follows Adkins, who plays a rogue soldier turned outlaw, who tussles with corrupt sheriffs, a ruthless Mexican cartel, and more to keep his sister and daughter safe. Again, I could not be more on board.

There’s no release date for Close Range just yet, but it should drop sometime this year. In the meantime, check out the first teaser trailer released earlier this year below. It’s mostly just Adkins tearing dudes apart, which is all I really want out of a movie.
