'We Summon The Darkness' Trailer Delivers Heavy Metal And Horror

I love a good heavy metal horror movie. From Rock ‘N Roll Nightmare, Blood Tracks, and Black Roses to Wild Zero, Deathgasm, and The Devil’s Candy, they run the gamut, but they always make me happy. And now we can add We Summon the Darkness to the canon. Check out the new trailer below.

Set in the 1980s in the midst of the heavy metal Satanic Panic, the story tracks a group of young women on their way to a big ol’ rock and roll show who get sidetracked by a few pesky murders. That sounds like a good start to me, and this trailer for We Summon the Darkness looks like a damn blast.

Here’s the synopsis:
On the way to a heavy metal concert, Alexis (Alexandra Daddario) and two girlfriends hear a news report of a local murder believed to be tied to a series of satanic killings. After the show, the girls invite three guys to join them at the estate owned by Alexis’s father, a fire-and-brimstone preacher (Johnny Knoxville). What starts as a party suddenly turns dark and deadly in this devilishly entertaining thriller.
Directed by Marc Meyers (My Friend Dahmer) and written by Alan Trezza (Burying the Ex), We Summon the Darkness stars Alexandra Daddario (True Detective), Keean Johnson (Cut Throat City), Maddie Hasson (Mr. Mercedes), Logan Miller (Escape Room), Amy Forsyth (Hell Fest), and Johnny Knoxville as a hellfire-and-damnation preacher.

It hits VOD on April 10. And thank Satan for VOD releases for keeping us flush with new movies to watch as theaters are basically nonexistent at the present time.
