'The Accountant' (2016) Movie Review

It’s rare to describe a single film as both cute and stunningly violent, but here we are talking about The Accountant, which is weirdly adorable for a movie where so many people get shot in the head.

'Pitch Perfect 2' Movie Review: The Bellas Take On The World

Aca-believe it or not, I am not the target audience for Pitch Perfect. Shocking, I know, that a bearded, overweight, pushing-40, action movie enthusiast with a ratty beard is not the intended viewer for a movie about a group of teenage a cappella singers. Weird, right? But that hasn’t stopped me from watching the first film somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 times (it’s entirely likely this number is much larger—there was a ten day period where I watched it everyday, and a month where it was at least 20 times—separate occurrences—so who the hell knows at this point).

You may or may not know this, but I’m a pretty big fan of Pitch Perfect. It made my top ten list for 2012, and once it hit video I’ve watched it dozens and dozens of times. (I may have a problem.) Who knew a bearded movie enthusiast who is pushing 40 would be so taken by collegiate a cappella. So yes, I’m rather excited for Pitch Perfect 2, and when I see things like this latest trailer, it only make me wish I could see it tomorrow.

Since it hit home video a little more than two years ago (December 2012), I’ve watched Pitch Perfect more than any other movie in existence. There was a period of ten straight days where I watched it at least once, at least. That was just when I was paying attention and there may very well be stretches that long, if not longer. So it stands to reason that Pitch Perfect 2 is one of my most anticipated films of 2015, and nothing I’ve seen has given me a reason not to be totally pumped, including this extended TV spot that aired during the Super Bowl.

Pitch Perfect is easily my favorite movie of 2012. No joke, it’s on my top ten list for the year, though it should be much higher ranked in retrospect, as there was a stretch of ten days after it came out on DVD where I watched it at least once a day, and my views probably topped 30 throughout the rest of the year. So, as you probably guessed, I’m rather excited for the upcoming Pitch Perfect 2. Who expected competitive college a capella to be my jam? But now the first trailer is here, and I apologize in advance for the long periods where I disappear for days at a time and just watch this.
