'Honeydew' (2021) Movie Review
The various culture clashes between city dwellers and rural folks has been responsible for more horror movie trauma than just about any set up. Such is the basis for Devereaux Milburn’s Honeydew, and while there are a few bits of intrigue and interest, there’s not much to recommend. It quickly becomes tedious, winds up overlong, and squanders the most appealing elements.

'Wrong Turn' (2021) Movie Review
At a certain point a franchise has to reinvent itself or risk doing the same thing time and time again to diminishing returns, sinking into obscurity all the while. That’s where the mutant backwoods cannibal saga Wrong Turn finds itself in 2021. With six films in can, the increasingly gory DTV series hasn’t had an installment since 2014. But a new year means a new movie, as well as a new direction. Don’t worry, there are still backwoods cannibals.

This 'Raw' Clip Will Make You Want To Peel Off Your Own Skin
A French cannibal movie that’s so graphic and disturbing
people walked out of the theater during its film festival premiere? Yes,
please. A movie like Julia Ducournau’s Raw already has my
undivided attention. I’m not usually too squeamish when it comes to horror, but
with this new clip, you get a stomach-churning taste of what compelled multiple
viewers to beat a hasty retreat. Let’s just say, it’s impressively icky, and
not in a purely gratuitous gore kind of way, it’s just icky.

'Raw' Red Band Trailer Chows Down On Teenage Cannibals
Happy Friday the 13th. Now this is a damn movie trailer. A
French cannibal movie is always going to be on my radar, and it doesn’t hurt
that Julia Ducournau’s Raw is supposed to be fantastic
and reportedly made audience members faint at multiple
festival stops. I still haven’t seen it yet, but as a U.S. release approaches,
this new red band trailer gives us a taste, and I love the flavor (sorry, I couldn’t help myself). There’s also a green band trailer and poster.

'Bone Tomahawk' Trailer: Check Out Kurt Russell In A Cannibal Revenge Western
While I was less than enthused with Eli Roth’s latest
addition to the cannibal movie sweepstakes, The Green Inferno, there’s another on the way that I’m rather psyched to see.
Bone Tomahawk is a very different take on the subject
matter, trading in do-gooders being devoured by a jungle tribe for the
trappings of a grim revenge western. The movie recently premiered at Fantastic
Fest and now a new trailer has hit the airwaves.

'The Green Inferno' Movie Review
In the annals of exploitation horror, there’s a particularly
nasty subgenre tucked way back in the corner and only illuminated by the most
iron-stomached aficionados. I’m talking, of course, about cannibals in the
jungle, which have, over the years, been some of the most brutal, controversial
horror flicks ever committed to celluloid. Now imagine someone made a
Scary Movie style spoof of films like Ruggero Deodato’s
Cannibal Holocaust or Umberto Lenzi’s 1981 Cannibal
Ferox, and that’s not far off from what you get with director Eli Roth’s latest endeavor, The Green Inferno.

Eli Roth's 'The Green Inferno' Gets A Hungry New Trailer
Horror favorite Eli Roth’s The Green
Inferno has had a bumpy ride on the way to the theaters later this
year. Sure, it was only delayed a year—some movies never get a release—but for
fans waiting for his take on the white-do-gooders-devoured-by-jungle-cannibals
genre have been salivating over this one for a while. You still have a couple
more months to wait, but this new trailer should whet your whistle.

Eli Roth's 'The Green Inferno' Finally Has A Release Date
It was supposed to hit theaters last
September, but Eli Roth’s cannibal gore fest The Green
Inferno was pulled and shelved indefinitely. Now, however, it has a
new release date, and will make its way into theaters this
September, opening September 25.

'We Are What We Are' Movie Review
“We Are What We Are” just may be the artiest backwoods
cannibal movie you’re likely to find. Don’t worry, though, because as much as
director Jim Mickle (“Stake Land”) does to pretty things up in his remake of
the 2010 Mexican horror joint of the same name, there is still more than enough
gore, brutality, and creepiness to sate your bloodthirsty little soul. Moody,
tense, and delicately layered, when you boil it down to the bare essentials,
this is still the story of an isolated, woodsy family eating folk.
