'Furious 7' Movie Review: Over The Top And Entertaining As Hell

Watching Furious 7, the latest installment of the adrenaline-fueled Fast & Furious franchise, you get the distinct impression that, when faced with a creative choice, the filmmakers paused to ask themselves, “What’s the most insane, over the top thing we can do here?” And then they went ahead and did that. For a series of films that, especially over the last few chapters, has been a continual escalation in physics-defying stunts, Furious 7 takes it to an entirely new level, and the result is a damn lot of fun.

Strap In For This Extended 'Furious 7' Trailer

If you’re familiar with this site at all, you know we’re rather excited for Furious 7 around these parts. Every subsequent piece of promotion released just ups the ante even further, making this look like the most bananas action movie we’ve ever seen, and that includes this new extended trailer.

These 'Furious 7' TV Spots Take You From Fast To Fury To Crazy

If what we’ve seen thus far is to be believed, Furious 7 certainly does take crazy to a whole other level. Seriously, this is like everything I’ve ever wanted out of a movie. There are cars parachuting out of planes, cars jumping from skyscraper to skyscraper, and these two new TV spots just make me drool uncontrollably.

This 'Furious 7' Trailer Doesn't Play By Your Rules

Okay, with the sheer amount of promotion we’ve seen for Furious 7 over the last couple weeks, you’d think it was right around the corner, not two months off. But I’m completely okay with that, and any day that a ridiculous action movie I’m super stoked about wants to drop an insane new trailer, well that’s a good day in my world. This may be an extended version of what you saw during the Super Bowl, but who cares, it’s still way, way nuts.

This 'Furious 7' Super Bowl Spot Ups The Insanity

There aren’t even words to describe the Furious7 spot that premiered during the Super Bowl yesterday, there just aren’t. A car jumps from inside one building (I don’t know how it got there, and I don’t particularly care), lands in another building, and then falls out the other side of building number two. It’s like they came up to me and said, “Hey, what’s the one thing you’ve always wanted to see in a movie?” And when I told them, they took that and amplified it exponentially. Yes, please.

This 'Furious 7' IMAX Trailer Has Everything You'll Ever Need, From Blood Feuds To Skydiving Cars

Dear Sweet Baby Jesus, can is just go ahead and be April 3 already? Everything that happens between now and when I can finally see Furious 7 (or Fast 7, or The Fast and the Furious 7, or whatever the hell you want to call it because I’ll be there no matter what the title is) is largely inconsequential. And I mean everything. Just to tease me, they released this new IMAX trailer and, well, yeah, I’ll just let you take a look, it speaks for itself.

This 7-Second 'Fast & Furious 7' Clip Is All You Need To Get Stoked

During the Super Bowl, between me pulling my hair out and possibly weeping in public in the middle of the dive bar a block from my house (I’m never as stressed as when I watch a Seahawks game), we’ll be treated to a variety of TV spots for upcoming movies. This weekend has become a kind of annual kick off for the marketing campaigns for the big blockbuster films of the following summer (and summer, at least according to the studios, now starts in March or April and runs through the first week of August). One of the movies that has supposedly purchased a slot of this absurdly expensive air time is James Wan’s The Fast & The Furious 7 (or Fast 7 or Furious 7 or whatever it’s actually called). But I don’t need a full frontal look to get stoked about this movie, all I need is this 7-second clip and I’m completely sold.

Watch 'The Fast & The Furious 7' Trailer, It's Ridiculous And Amazing

Bless, you, The Fast and the Furious franchise, bless you. Why wouldn’t you start the first trailer for Furious 7 by parachuting cars out of an airplane? That’s the logical choice to us. Why is there a bus with automated machine guns? Why wouldn’t you ram a car into another car in order to propel Paul Walker forward into yet another vehicle, all at dangerously high speeds?
