Jean-Claude Van Damme Unleashes Holy Violence In This 'Pound Of Flesh' Clip

Jean-Claude Van Damme may not be quite the movie star he once was, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get up to his old tricks now and again. And if you’ve ever wanted to see him beat the shit of a bunch of nameless goons with a Bible, check out this clip from his latest, Pound of Flesh. Take a look after the jump.

This comes from the folks at Birth.Movies.Death., and is a nice throwback to the heyday of this style of action. In the late 1980s, damn near every movie of this ilk—those starring Van Damme or Steven Seagal or any others on a list of lone wolf cinematic badasses—had an epic bar fight scene. Seagal dismantling an entire bar with a cue ball in a handkerchief in Out for Justice is still one of my all time favorite movie moments. And what you see here definitely falls into that same category.

In Pound of Flesh, Van Damme’s character, Deacon, a former black ops agent, is going to donate his kidney to his sick niece, because he’s a solid dude. Before he can accomplish this, however, he wakes up in a bathtub full of ice to find that someone has already stolen his spare organ. Bastards. With the clock ticking, he tears through the way the underworld looking for a little revenge.

Pound of Flesh hits theaters and VOD starting today, May 15.
