It’s been quite a year, but that doesn’t mean the Oscars aren’t happening. Sure, the 93rd Academy Awards have been delayed quite a bit, but they’re still happening. As if to prove this point, the nominations came out this morning for those inclined to discuss and dissect.

The 2020 Seattle Film Critics Society Award Winners

Okay, thanks to COVID-19, it’s significantly later than usual, but still, it’s the middle of awards season, the time where various groups get together to laud their favorite movies of the past year. I’m fortunate enough to vote in a couple of film critics groups and one, the Seattle Film Critics Society, just announced our 2020 awards.

'Get Out' (2017) Movie Review



Best known as one of the masterminds behind Key & Peele—which, though I enjoy, I admittedly don’t adore like so many folks (it has the same hit-and-miss issue as every other sketch comedy series, even my all-time favorites, and though there are manic, brilliant highs, I never found the whole particularly enthralling)—Jordan Peele apparently has a whole other career ahead of him, should he choose: making awesome horror movies.
