The 25 Best Movies Of The 21st Century So Far



Recently, the BBC polled almost 200 film critics from around the world to compile a list of the top 100 movies of the 21st century so far. The reveal caused quite a ruckus in certain circles—and by that I mean the insular community that watches far too many movies and spends most of its time on film blogs and Twitter.

'Oldboy' Movie Review


In 2003, Park Chan-wook’s revenge thriller Oldboy made audiences squirm in their seats, and Spike Lee’s new remake, despite some issues, is going to elicit a similar reaction. While the grim plot and overriding themes are note for note the same, Lee, screenwriter Mark Protosevic (I Am Legend), and a fantastic cast, do enough to differentiate their film, and keep it from being a tired rehash.

'Oldboy' Redband Trailer Says It's Hammer Time



I’m torn, so very, very torn. On one hand, the fact that Hollywood is remaking a badass modern revenge classic like Park Chan-wook’s  “Oldboy,” which is barely a decade old, is a travesty. They’re going to water it down, take away all of the bite, give it a happy, Americanized ending. You get where this train is headed. On the other hand, this new redband trailer for Spike Lee’s version of “Oldboy” is really good.
