As a horror-obsessed kid, I adored The Monster Squad. I was ten when it came out in 1987 and it falls into a category of movies like The Goonies and a handful of others that are about kids, and aimed at kids, but that don’t marginalize them, which was always an issue I had with this type of film growing up. Here, the young characters are smart, capable, and complicated; in legitimate peril; and don’t rely on the parents swooping in at the last minute to save the day—the kids are the heroes and have the heroic moments they earn. Among other things, this is what I loved about it. This is basically a long-winded way of saying Andre Gower’s documentary, Wolman’s Got Nards, is 100% made for me.

This Trailer For 'The Predator' Is Better Than The Others
As psyched as I am for a Shane Black-directed, Shane Black/Fred Dekker-written take on The Predator, thus far, the trailers haven’t exactly lit me on fire. That is, until now. This latest trailer is badass. It practically sweats Black’s trademark machismo and looks like exactly the movie I hope it is.

'The Predator' Trailer Poses A Threat
He didn’t write John McTiernan’s 1987
Predator, but Shane Black appeared in the film. In the years
since, he’s become a celebrated writer and director in his own right. And now
he’s back to try to breathe some new life into the franchise with The Predator. 20th Century Fox just released the first trailer for the
sci-fi actioner. Check it out below.

'The Nice Guys' (2016) Movie Review
If you’re a fan of Shane Black’s movies, especially
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Lethal Weapon, and
The Last Boy Scout, his latest, The Nice
Guys, is exactly the movie you hoped for. It never deviates from the formula,
but it’s certainly Black doing what he does, as well as he’s ever done it. This
is the kind mismatched buddy action comedy that, every time one does roll
around, we collectively say, “Hollywood doesn’t make this kind of movie anymore.”

New 'The Predator' Poster Is One Ugly Mother...
I’m not the biggest fans of remakes and reboots and
reimaginings in general, especially of movies I love, and John “Die
Hard” McTiernan’s 1987 action classic Predator is
a formative force in my life. But since another one is happening, the fact that
it’s in the capable hands of Shane Black (Iron Man 3,
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and who actually appeared in
Predator) and Fred Dekker (Monster Squad,
Night of the Creeps), is about as comfortable as I’ll get.
The long-in-the-works project just dropped a new poster and a bit of a name
tweak.

Shane Black's 'Predator' Plans To Recreate The Franchise
I’m one of the few people who seems to enjoy
Predators. Sure, it’s not Predator, nor
is it even Predator 2, but it’s a damn sight better than
either of the Alien vs. Predator movies we were subjected
to. Last year we learned that Shane Black is writing and directing a new
Predator movie, which is promising for a number of reasons,
but the new film plans to reinvent and reinvigorate the franchise.
