I’m not entirely sure why, but I’m pretty damn into this idea. Hear me out. There’s a possibility—in reality, I assume it’s a very, very, very remote possibility—that the Safdie Brothers, Josh and Bennie, the directors of Uncut Gems and Good Time, could make a Pee-Wee Herman movie. And it weirdly makes a lot of sense to me, and sounds awesome.

'May The Devil Take You Too' Trailer: Timo Tjahjanto Returns With More 'Evil Dead'-Inspired Horror

Now this, this is the stuff. Back in 2018, Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto back-to-backed us with pummeling action saga The Night Comes for Us and the Raimi-esque demonic creeper May the Devil Take You. It was a hell of a one-two punch. While that first one hasn’t yielded a sequel (fingers crossed, fingers crossed so damn hard), in 2020, Tjahjanto delivers May the Devil Take You Too, and that’s pretty rad. Now we have a trailer that should start horror fans salivating. Check it out below.

Jason Lei Howden’s Deathgasm was one of my favorite movies of 2015. Who am I kidding, it’s one of my favorite movies of the last ten years. It’s a the demonic, heavy-metal horror movie I’ve always needed in my life. So, of course I’m incredibly pumped about his follow up, Guns Akimbo. If you saw photos going around the internet of Daniel Radcliffe with guns bolted to his hands, that’s where those images came from. And now, finally, we have a trailer, and it looks insane in the best possible way.

'The Wave' (2019) Movie Review

Gillie Klabin’s gonzo indie sci-fi film, The Wave, opens with Frank (Justin Long). Celebrating a big work win, and because he hates his home life, he goes out for a weekday night of drinking with his pal Jeff (Donald Faison). They have some drinks, meet some nice ladies, Theresa (Sheila Vand) and Natalie (Katia Winter), and wind up at a party where Frank takes a mystery drug from a mystery man (Tommy Flanagan). Always a good choice. Then things go off the rails. Frank comes unstuck in time, bounces in an out of hallucinatory fits, screws up his marriage, screws up his job, and maybe robs a drug dealer, he’s not entirely sure. You know, an average Tuesday.

So, the Oscar nominations are here. I’m not trying to sound too cool, but I don’t really care. I barely pay attention the awards in the groups that I vote for, and as usual, the Academy Awards don’t share my particular taste. For the most part, the nominees are safe and expected and what they are.
