'Fast X' (2023) Movie Review

vin diesel with a car door
Last time they went to freaking space. In a Pontiac Fiero! So, the biggest question about Fast X, the tenth chapter in the Toretto-centric saga of Southern-California-car-enthusiasts-turned-international-mega-spies, is how the hell are they going to outdo that? Well, Jason Momoa as gay-coded street race Jesus is one way. Unfortunately, Momoa and his delirious, gleeful performance is the only thing Fast X has going for it. It’s also never been clearer just how much this franchise misses the late Paul Walker and how much it’s lost its way since his death.

'F9' (2021) Movie Review

f9 movie poster
F9, yes, the ninth installment of everyone’s favorite family-centric saga of street-racers-turned-international-agents-of-espionage, is somehow both exactly as ridiculous as expected and even sillier than anticipated. This makes the movie simultaneously ludicrous over-the-top escapism and tediously overwrought nonsense drama. It’s a strange duality. We’ve come so far from the days of hijacking shipments of DVD players.

'F9' Trailer: Beefy Dudes, Magnet Cars, Family, And A Flying Pontiac Fiero

vin diesel looking beefy
A magnet car, a jet being taken out by a truck, beefy dudes brawling, talk of family, a long-dead character brought back to life, a flying Pontiac Fiero? All of this taken together can only mean one thing: there’s a new F9 trailer and it’s even more bonkers than you thought.

'F9' Trailer: The 'Fast And Furious' Franchise Takes Family To A Whole New Physics-Defying Level

Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) used to live his life a quarter-mile at a time, but now he has a secret love baby, so apparently that’s off the table. For a moment anyway. As illustrated by the trailer for F9, the ninth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, the allure of going vroom vroom and ignoring the laws of physics will always win.

Ready To Get Extreme...Again? Sounds Like 'xXx: Return Of Xander Cage' Is Getting A Sequel

Are you mentally prepared for xXx 4? Well, ready or not, it sounds like it’s headed our way, so start thinking of what renegade shit you’d like to see Vin Diesel do now that we’ve watched him ski through a jungle.

'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' (2017) Movie Review

What’s the one thing Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel’s 2014 deep space adventure, is missing? That’s right, Kurt Russell. Fortunately for everyone, writer/director James Gunn’s follow up, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 rectifies that oversight with a vengeance. Oh yeah, and there’s Baby Groot, who may be the most adorable character to ever grace the silver screen.

'The Fate Of The Furious' (2017) Movie Review

If 2015’s Furious 7 was a bit too reserved and subdued—what with cars parachuting from cargo planes and leaping skyscraper to skyscraper—don’t worry, The Fate of the Furious, also known as the eighth Fast and Furious movie (AKA #F8), rectifies that with gleeful abandon. It walks a fine line between sheer idiocy and inspired brilliance, often leaping back and forth between the two, and represents a marked drop in quality in the franchise for the first time in almost a decade.

The Latest 'The Fate Of The Furious' Trailer Is More Absurd Than You Ever Dreamed Possible

As long as they keep cranking out Fast & Furious movies, and as long as they continue to spiral into insanity, I’ll keep watching. And if you thought Furious 7, with it’s CGI Paul Walker and cars jumping from building to building and parachuting out of cargo planes was bonkers, well, you need to watch the new Fate of the Furious trailer. I don’t even know what they’re doing anymore, but hot damn do I love it. Seriously, there’s a submarine in a car chase, what more can a growing boy ask for?

'xXx: Return Of Xander Cage' (2017) Movie Review

xXx: Return of Xander Cage is nonsense garbage. But holy shit if it isn’t the most entertaining nonsense garbage I’ve seen in some time. Sit down, strap in, and prepare turn the person in the next seat and ask, “what?” repeatedly. All while wearing an irrepressible idiot grin from ear to ear.

'xXx: Return Of Xander Cage' Trailers: Vin Diesel Breaks A Gun And Wishes Us A Merry Freakin' Christmas

Wait, what? Vin Diesel casually breaks a gun over his thigh like it’s nothing? That’s some next level Bo Jackson shit right there. Okay, xXx: Return of Xander Cage, if you didn’t already have my attention, you sure as hell do after the latest in a line of absurd trailers.

'The Fate Of The Furious' Trailer: Say It Ain't So, Vin Diesel

Between Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto turning his back on his makeshift family, Charlize Theron’s terrible, terrible pseudo-dreadlocks (is she going to a rave?), and a goddamn submarine bursting through the icepack and getting into a high-speed chase with a Lamborghini and a tank, I have no clue what’s going on in the first trailer for The Fate of the Furious, the latest in the Fast and Furious franchise. But holy hell, whatever it is, I love the shit out of it.

'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Trailer, Now With More A-Holes And Baby Groot

As much as I do enjoy a number of Marvel movies, 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy stands out as my favorite. It’s so different than everything else the comic book studio has produced, and the deep space high adventure is just so damn much fun. So, it’s understandable I’m psyched for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the fact that it releases fantastic trailers like this latest one only stokes that fire.

First 'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2' Trailer Needs A Hug

Over the last couple of days, we’ve heard rumblings that our first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 might arrive with Marvel’s latest joint, Doctor Strange. But lo and behold, we don’t even have to wait that long, because a shiny new teaser just hit the airwaves. Check it out below.

'xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage' Trailer Skis In The Jungle And Rides A Motorcycle On Water

Considering how much I have come to adore Vin Diesel for his over-the-top action spectacles, the fact that seems like a genuine, earnest dude, and his deep commitment to being a complete and utter nerd, his 2002 actioner xXx is not one I’ve ever been able to get behind. It’s not one of his finest moments. But apparently there was enough interest to make xXx: The Return of Xander Cage happen. (More accurately, Diesel had enough interest—the man has an endearing force of will to make whatever the hell he wants happen.) The unnecessary film just dropped its first trailer. The result is bugnuts fucking crazy and I’m now 100% enamored.

Jet Li And Tony Jaa Will Pummel Vin Diesel In 'xXx 3'

If we’re being entirely honest, I have no idea why, in 2016 (in case you were curious, yes, I typed 2015 first), we’re talking about a xXx sequel, but here we are. As much as I love questionable action fare, the 2002 Vin Diesel-fronted, XTREME sports-centric flick is a total turd. It’s even more of a Mountain Dew commercial than the new Point Break (though it does still make me laugh that the villains are a group called Anarchy 99, that shit is gold). But apparently Vin Diesel wants this to happen, and when he puts him mind to it, things get done (see Riddick). And while it’s hard to condone this, they’ve added some legitimate badasses to the cast.

'The Last Witch Hunter' Movie Review

Before seeing it I had a sneaking suspicion, but now that I've actually watched the movie, I'm fairly certain that The Last Witch Hunter was made specifically for me. The Vin Diesel-starring fantasy adventure is gonzo and over the top in a way you rarely encounter anymore, especially in expensive mainstream movies, but it lines up damn near perfectly with my cinematic proclivities.

'Furious 7' Movie Review: Over The Top And Entertaining As Hell

Watching Furious 7, the latest installment of the adrenaline-fueled Fast & Furious franchise, you get the distinct impression that, when faced with a creative choice, the filmmakers paused to ask themselves, “What’s the most insane, over the top thing we can do here?” And then they went ahead and did that. For a series of films that, especially over the last few chapters, has been a continual escalation in physics-defying stunts, Furious 7 takes it to an entirely new level, and the result is a damn lot of fun.

Strap In For This Extended 'Furious 7' Trailer

If you’re familiar with this site at all, you know we’re rather excited for Furious 7 around these parts. Every subsequent piece of promotion released just ups the ante even further, making this look like the most bananas action movie we’ve ever seen, and that includes this new extended trailer.

These 'Furious 7' TV Spots Take You From Fast To Fury To Crazy

If what we’ve seen thus far is to be believed, Furious 7 certainly does take crazy to a whole other level. Seriously, this is like everything I’ve ever wanted out of a movie. There are cars parachuting out of planes, cars jumping from skyscraper to skyscraper, and these two new TV spots just make me drool uncontrollably.

This 'Furious 7' Trailer Doesn't Play By Your Rules

Okay, with the sheer amount of promotion we’ve seen for Furious 7 over the last couple weeks, you’d think it was right around the corner, not two months off. But I’m completely okay with that, and any day that a ridiculous action movie I’m super stoked about wants to drop an insane new trailer, well that’s a good day in my world. This may be an extended version of what you saw during the Super Bowl, but who cares, it’s still way, way nuts.
