Don’t you hate it when you wake up from a night of hard
partying, hung over, vaguely smelly, and in control of a massive monster
wreaking havoc on the other side of the world? Oh wait, maybe that only happens
to Anne Hathaway in Nacho Vigalondo’s Colossal. I’d swear
that happened to me once, but it may just be this new trailer.

'Colossal' Trailer: Anne Hathaway Has A Giant Monster
I’ve been over-the-moon psyched for
Colossal every since hearing the words “Nacho Vigalondo” and
“giant monster movie” in the same sentence. Then the Spanish director put
together a top-tier cast—Anne Hathaway, who I’m meh about, and Dan Stevens, who
I’m very, very not meh about. Word out of the TIFF premiere last fall confirmed
my excitement was justified, and the first trailer is right in my wheelhouse.

'Primer' Director Shane Carruth's Big-Budget Action Film 'The Modern Ocean' Has An Insane Cast
If you weren’t already pumped as all hell for Shane
Carruth’s upcoming big budget action movie The Modern Ocean—and let’s be fair, just the fact that he’s not taking nine
years between directorial projects is worth getting excited for—he’s putting together
an insane cast.

'Interstellar' Movie Review: Christopher Nolan's Latest Is Stunning And Crappy At The Same Time
Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is one serious
mixed bag of a film, as spectacular as it is flawed. It delivers the most
breathtaking, gorgeous visuals you’ve ever seen in a movie, things that you
can’t help but gawk at, slack jawed and bug eyed. Along with that, a large
portion of the story is so trite and hokey that that it takes much of the shine
off of the rest. Big and epic and ambitious in every way, not everything lands
like it needs to, and there are incredible highs mixed with moments that leave
you completely flat.

'Les Misérables' Movie Review
Having never read Victor Hugo’s novel, nor seen the
legendary stage production, the vast majority of what I know about “Les Misérables”
comes from an episode of “Animaniacs”. That said, I do love a good musical, and
I rather enjoyed this long awaited film adaptation, though it is an up and down
ride at times. Even if you’re not familiar with the play, you’ve heard these
songs before, the cast is fantastic across the board, even people I don’t
usually care for (Anne Hathaway, I’m looking at you), and the costumes and
production design do a great job of making you feel like you’re in 19th
century France. Everyone, even the upper class, are suitably grubby and smudged
so that you believe they’ve spent their entire lives living in filth.
