'Boys From County Hell' (2020) Movie Review

vampire skull horror movie
Don’t you hate it when you inadvertently wake up an ancient vampire and unleash his wrath upon your small Irish town? The characters in Chris Baugh’s Boys From County Hell certainly do.

'Jakob's Wife' (2021) Movie Review

barbara crampton looking badass
Jakob’s Wife has it all. Barbara Crampton. Larry Fessenden. Priests. Vampires. Rats. Splatter. The line, “I’m going to tongue fuck a hole in your neck until I puke blood.” Concrete Blonde. You know, all the best horror things. A bloody, energetic genre throwback, the latest from Travis Stevens (The Girl on the Third Floor) mixes in humor amongst the body bags and the result is a damn fine time.

'Ten Minutes To Midnight' (2021) Movie Review

caroline williams
People often reflect upon the choices that brought them to a certain point in their lives. We’re talking from a big, life-long perspective here. This happens more and more as we age and come to major life changes, like, say, retirement. Erik Bloomquist’s Ten Minutes to Midnight takes this set up but asks the question “what if a vampire movie?”

'The Shed' (2019) Movie Review

Sheds are where murder happens. That’s just a fact of life. If you go into a shed, you’re probably going to die a grisly death of one sort or another. Hey, I don’t make the rules. Writer/director Frank Sabatella’s The Shed makes excellent use of this backyard-lurking death trap, mixing monsters, gore, and coming of age drama into an effective, no-frills horror yarn.

This Trailer For Takashi Miike's Vampire Gangster Joint 'Yakuza Apocalypse' Is Insane

When you think of the Cannes Film Festival, you generally think of the prestigious international pictures we’ll be talking about over the next year. That’s a bit different this time around as George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road will premiere at the 2015 fest. But the strangest, most hair-singeing film promises to be Takashi Miike’s Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War of the Underworld, and this new trailer shows off a movie that’s even more bizarre than the title indicates.

Takashi Miike's 'Yakuza Apocalypse' Looks Totally Nuts In This New Trailer

Leave it to Takashi Miike to deliver a gangster vampire flick, which appears to be exactly what he’s done with his latest underworld opus, Yakuza Apocalypse, which has dropped this quick new preview on the world. (It might actually be two, I’m not sure.. Is that a furry with a lightsaber at the end? What the hell is going on here? I’m not entirely sure, but goddamn I can’t wait to find out. Then again, this is the guy who put a poorly computer animated cockfight in City of Lost Souls, so nothing should surprise you at this point.
