“Shit’s about to get stabby.” That sounds like the kind of marketing campaign I would come up with, or at least how I would describe a movie I was trying to get a friend to go see. London Has Fallen certainly appears to know its audience, which is basically me, and this new NSFW TV spot is the pitch perfect way to get me to see your damn movie.

Movie Review: 'Gods Of Egypt'

Alex Proyas’ new film, Gods of Egypt, is straight up bonkers. That’s the impression given by the trailers and TV spots and the overall, weird-as-shit aesthetic, but nothing, not the promotional material, not even a handful of strong LSD, will prepare you for the insanity that unfurls before your eyes.

'Daredevil' Season 2 Trailer Is Badass And Full Of Elektra

“There’s nothing we can do but fight.” Those words echo throughout the latest trailer for Season 2 of Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil, and there is certainly a great deal of fighting. The last look gave us a full-frontal blast of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, while this latest video is heavy on the other key new addition, Elodie Yung’s Elektra Natchios.

Movie Review: 'Triple 9'

Heists, dirty cops, shifting loyalties, betrayal, constant tension, the Russian mob, more bullets than you can possibly count, copious explosions, an incredible cast, and the guy who directed both The Road and The Proposition. Ask me what I want in a movie and I’ll likely read off most of the things I just listed, all of which figure prominently in director John Hillcoat’s new crime film, Triple 9. All of the pieces are in place, and though this is a solid, grim offering, one that I enjoyed well enough, Triple 9 never offers any surprises and watches like scraps of other crime movies stitched together in ways that don’t always fit. There are shades of Heat, Sicario, Training Day, and more, but the end result is a scattered, if exciting, dark, and passable thriller.

Jean-Claude Van Damme And Amazon Are Doing A Crazy-Ass Action Comedy Series

I have a deep, undying love for Jean-Claude Van Damme, but even I can admit that many of his most recent DTV action endeavors are not all that great (I have hope for Kickboxer: Vengeance though). His best role of the last few years was as a version of himself in the fantastic and underrated Belgian crime flick JCVD, and he’s going to play an offshoot of himself again in a bonkers sounding series. Needless to say, I’m all in.

Steeped in the religious conviction and paranoia of 17th Century New England pilgrim life, this is more dirt-smudged tension and distrustful atmosphere than jump scares and monsters hiding around corners.
