'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' (2021) Movie Review
2018’s non-Marvel Marvel movie, Venom, is an odd beast. The movie isn’t particularly good. As a whole, it’s uninspired, messy, stuck in the late-1990s, and Sony’s legal inability to use Spider-Man, the titular antihero’s most notable nemesis, weighs on the film. But then there’s star Tom Hardy. Whatever movie he’s in, is a very different movie from everyone else. It’s basically Hardy arguing with himself for two hours, and it’s really damn entertaining in an unhinged, maybe he’s having an actual mental episode kind of way. Which brings us to the nigh-inevitable sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

'No Time To Die' (2021) Movie Review
Originally slated to drop in November of 2019, then further delayed multiple times because of COVD-19, No Time to Die serves as Daniel Craig’s James Bond swan song, his grand finale as the iconic international man of mystery. And after months and months and months of waiting, of anticipation, it ends, to use that oft quoted line from T.S. Eliot, not with a bang, but with a whimper.

'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' Trailer: Yes, This Movie Is Really Happening
What is there to say about Venom? In reality, it’s not good, but it is, however, a ton of fun to watch, mostly for Tom Hardy having an insane meltdown and giving a completely bonkers performance. I said I could Hardy banter with himself for hours, and, thanks to this trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage proving that the sequel actually exists, I may have to make good on my promise.

'Rampage' (2018) Movie Review
Rampage, the latest opus of urban
destruction from director Brad Peyton (San Andreas) and
mega-star Dwayne Johnson, may legitimately be the stupidest movie I’ve ever
seen. And I watched Air Bud last weekend for some reason. It’s
also 100% the movie it looks like, with zero deviation. That’s not to say it’s
without a certain level of fun, thanks almost entirely to The Rock, who does
what The Rock does best. Only this time there are giant monsters, too. It’s
somehow completely bonkers and totally forgettable in the same moment.

'Rampage' Trailer: Dwayne Johnson And A Giant Gorilla, Wolf, And Crocodile. What More Do You Need?
You know, sometimes I look at a certain movie and I think, “Did
I make that?” Because I’m fairly certain I’m the only one who could possibly
want to see it. And that’s the sensation I get watching the first trailer for
Rampage. It stars Dwayne Johnson and a giant gorilla, a
giant wolf, and a giant crocodile. And based on this first look, it’s already
the greatest video game movie ever made.
