André Øvredal’s Mortal has been in the works for a while. There was talk of it even around the time of The Autopsy of Jane Doe, well before Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Though it’s taken it’s sweet time, the Trollhunter director is back and this Mortal trailer further convinced us this is something we need to see ASAP.
A new André Øvredal movie is always going to be worth getting excited over. The Trollhunter and Autopsy of Jane Doe filmmaker already has his Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark follow up, Mortal, in the works, and it looks like a perfect fit in the director’s canon. And a nice treat for horror fans. Check out the partially-in-English trailer below.
Cards on the table, I know nothing about Death
Note. It’s apparently a super popular manga, which isn’t really my
scene and explains why I know nothing about it. I do, however, know a thing or
two about Adam Wingard, and those things are more than enough to get me excited
for anything he’s involved with. (Even though Blair Witch was
a total waste of time, The Guest and You’re Next suffice to bolster my enthusiasm.) Wingard’s Death
Note adaptation hits Netflix later this year, and the streaming giant
just dropped a first trailer.
