What’s the one thing Guardians of the
Galaxy, Marvel’s 2014 deep space adventure, is missing? That’s right,
Kurt Russell. Fortunately for everyone, writer/director James Gunn’s follow up,
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 rectifies that oversight with
a vengeance. Oh yeah, and there’s Baby Groot, who may be the most adorable
character to ever grace the silver screen.

UPDATED: Watch New 'Alien: Covenant' And 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Trailers
While the real world continued its descent into a once-thought-fictional
dystopia, it turns out last night was one hell of a night for trailers for
science fiction movies. Both Alien: Covenant and
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 dropped new trailers, and
both are goddamn fantastic, albeit for very different reasons. Take a gander at
both after the jump.

'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' Trailer, Now With More A-Holes And Baby Groot
As much as I do enjoy a number of Marvel movies, 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy stands out as my favorite. It’s so different than everything else the comic book studio has produced, and the deep space high adventure is just so damn much fun. So, it’s understandable I’m psyched for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the fact that it releases fantastic trailers like this latest one only stokes that fire.

First 'Guardians Of The Galaxy 2' Trailer Needs A Hug
Over the last couple of days, we’ve heard rumblings that our
first look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 might arrive with
Marvel’s latest joint, Doctor Strange. But lo and behold, we
don’t even have to wait that long, because a shiny new teaser just hit the airwaves.
Check it out below.

'Star Trek Beyond' (2016) Movie Review
So, I finally saw Star Trek Beyond this
weekend (just a wee bit late, I know). While I’m too lazy to write a real
review—and who the hell cares this far after the fact—it’s a damn fine time.
Not the best movie of the summer by far, it’s still in the upper echelon as far
as big-budget studio blockbusters go—though that’s admittedly not the highest bar
this year.

'Star Trek Beyond' Trailer: It's Starting To Look A Lot Like 'Star Trek'
Remember how that last Star Trek Beyond
trailer sucked so bad even the guy who wrote the movie admitted it wasn’t very
good? Yeah, well, apparently Paramount took that to heart and released a new,
much better trailer. There’s not a single Beastie Boys track to be found. Check
it out.

'Colombiana' Movie Review
After witnessing the brutal murder of her parents at the hands of Colombian drug lords, Cataleya (Zoe Saldana) grows up to become a ruthless assassin bent on revenge. That’s the plot of “Colombiana” in a nutshell, and to be honest, there isn’t much more substance than that to the story. At the core the story is like “Leon” light, essentially an empty version of the same plot carried further. Lucky for you there is some solid ass kicking action to back up what the script by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen lacks.
