Salma Hayek Channels Her Inner John McClane In This Badass 'Everly' Trailer

I’ll watch Salma Hayek in just about anything (I do, however, draw the line at the Grown Ups movies), but if you throw her into a Die Hard style actioner and hand her a big ass gun, like in this trailer for Everly, I’m 100% in.

Hayek plays the title character, a call girl named, oddly enough, Everly, who turns against her big-time gangster boss, Taiko (Hiroyuki Watanabe), and becomes a snitch for the cops. He, of course, doesn’t take kindly to this turn of events and sends an endless stream of killers, thugs, and goons after her, and she has to fight to stay alive. As you can see in this trailer, that involves killing a shit ton of these guys in the limited confines of her apartment.

Everly looks grim, dark, and violent, with a nice side of gallows humor thrown in for good measure. While we don’t expect it to match the glorious highs of Die Hard (what does?) this Joe Lynch-directed (Knights of Badassdom) joint might prove to be an entertaining distraction when it drops on VOD on January 23 and theaters on February 27. Seriously, she throws a grenade into an elevator, how can that not make you smile?
