Jean-Claude Van Damme's Amazon Series 'Jean-Claude Van Johnson' Is Going To Be The Greatest Show Ever

This week, Jean-Claude Van Damme teams up with Amazon do deliver what is sure to be your favorite new show, Jean-Claude Van Johnson. Starring JCVD poking fun at himself, produced by Ridley Scott, and with a delightfully ridiculous premise, I’m 100% game, and taking a look at a new collection of photos ups my excitement level even more.

Seriously, haggard Jean-Claude Van Damme riding a fucking Segway in his pajamas is the greatest single image I’ve ever encountered.

The Muscles from Brussels stars as a version of himself where he plays…well, a martial arts film star. Here’s the twist: he also moonlights as an undercover private contractor who routinely saves the world, you now, when he’s not needed on set. Now retired from the spy game, a chance encounter with a former flame gets him back into the life, much to the chagrin of evil doers the world over.

Words can’t adequately express how much I love this idea.

Jean-Claude Van Johnson is part of Amazon’s process where they debut a bunch of pilots; fans get to watch, comment, and vote on them; and then the burgeoning studio turns the top prospects into full series. The latest round of shows hits tomorrow, August 19, and I will be sorely disappointed in all of you if Jean-Claude Van Johnson doesn’t make the cut. Consider yourself warned.

In addition to Jean-Claude Van Damme, Jean-Claude Van Johnson also stars Kat Foster, Moises Arias, and Phylicia Rashad, and Peter Atencio (Keanu) directed the pilot. You have no reason not to watch this. What the hell else are you doing this weekend?
