Here Are The Winners Of The 2015 Seattle Film Awards

Awards season is in full swing. Critics and guilds and groups have been dropping best-of lists for the last month, the Golden Globes were given out last weekend, other trophies are being doled out, and the Oscar nominations will be announced tomorrow. Not to be left out, a bunch of Seattle-based movie critics, of which I am one, put our heads together, voted, and named our best films, performances, and whatnot of 2014.

I don’t usually put too much stock in awards, but since I participated in this, what the hell? I voted for some of these, I didn’t vote for others (my favorite movie of the year is John Wick, and I am decidedly in the minority in that regard-HERE is the full list). Without question I’m most excited about the fact that The Raid 2 won best foreign language film. That movie kicks so much ass.

It should be noted that Selma didn’t screen in Seattle until last week, after we voted, and hence went unseen by the majority of us. Otherwise that would have been all over this list.

And without further ado, here are the winners of the 2nd Annual Seattle Film Awards, if only we had a Space Needle-shaped trophy to hand out:
