'Chief Of Station' (2024) Movie Review

aaron eckhart on a phone
Another week, another direct-to-video action-thriller. Lately, many of these stars either Aaron Eckhart or Olga Kurylenko, and director Jesse V. Johnson’s Chief of Station happens to feature both. (It truly only stars Eckhart, with Kurylenko relegated to a supporting role, but we’ll take it.)

'Boudica: Queen Of War' (2023) Movie Review

olga kurylenko as a warrior queen
Epic scope and scale on a bargain-basement budget. That might be the best way to describe DTV action auteur Jesse V. Johnson’s newest film, Boudica: Queen of War, starring Olga Kurylenko, who has carved quite a niche for herself in this realm.

'Hell Hath No Fury' (2021) Movie Review

nina bergman jesse v johnson
Stolen gold. Nazi conspiracies. Tangled webs of greed, betrayal, and vengeance. Jesse V. Johnson’s Hell Hath No Fury hath damn near everything a historical action thriller needs.

'Debt Collectors' Trailer: Scott Adkins And Jesse V. Johnson Reunite To Kick Ass In This Sequel

Around these parts, we stan Scott Adkins. Especially when the British martial artist teams up with director Jesse V. Johnson. They’re like the current power duo of DTV badassery. (Triple Threat, Savage Dog, Accident Man.) Now the pair returns with Debt Collectors, the sequel to their 2018 offering, The Debt Collector. Check out the first trailer below.

'Avengement' (2019) Movie Review

scott adkins with a shotgun

To give you an idea of the level of brutality in Avengement, the latest team-up from star Scott Adkins and director Jesse V. Johnson, at one point Adkins’ character, Cain Burgess, straight up bites out a dude’s jugular with a ferocious snarl. And no, this isn’t a vampire movie. This is a gritty, mean, down and dirty crime story about gritty, mean, down and dirty criminals. It’s also Johnson’s most ambitious film to date, as well as maybe his best.

'Avengement' Trailer: Scott Adkins New Prison Revenge Movie Looks Grim

man with a silver grill yells

We’re big Scott Adkins stans around these parts. He’s one of the best movie martial artists working right now and, outside of a few dalliances with big time Hollywood blockbusters like Doctor Strange, he almost exclusively makes the kind of mid-tier actioners that haven’t been mainstream since the ‘80s and ‘90s. Today marks the release of his epic team up Triple Threat, which you should watch ASAP, but he has another badass project on the way, the prison revenge movie Avengement. Watch the first trailer below.

'Triple Threat' (2018) Movie Review

one man punches another

There’s a scene in Triple Threat where Tony Jaa fights Scott Adkins, then Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais fight Scott Adkins, then Tony Jaa fights Scott Adkins solo again. A scene. Actually, not even a scene, it’s a sequence within a scene. If that’s not enough to convince you to watch a movie, keep reading, I’ll try harder.

'Triple Threat' Clip: Iko Uwais Fights Tiger Chen And It Is Good

two asian men fighting

Though it feels like it’s been coming forever, Triple Threat finally hits theaters next week for a one-day extravaganza of face-punching mayhem before it lands on VOD. Frequent visitors to this site know well how much this movie makes me salivate. And we have a new clip that should do the same for you. Check it out below.

'Triple Threat' Trailer: Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Scott Adkins, And Everyone Else Are Here To Fight

Happy Valentine’s Day! While some choose to celebrate this holiday with candy, candlelight, and other romantic markers, I prefer the way the good folks behind Triple Threat like to party, with face kicking, spinning elbows, flying knees, and general badass action mayhem. Yes, the full Triple Threat trailer promised a few days ago has arrived, and all I can say is, “Hell Yes!” to what is apparently “the killingest action event of the year.”

This 'Triple Threat' Trailer Teaser May Be Short But Still Punches Everyone In The Face

Under normal circumstances, I’m not inclined to share trailers for trailers That’s generally a ridiculous practice and sharing actual trailers is problematic enough. (I’m a fan, they get me hyped, but I now many folks who avoid them like the plague—to each his own.) That said, I’m all kinds of jacked up for Triple Threat, there’s a new trailer coming Thursday, and there’s a teaser for that impending preview. And here it is.

'The Debt Collector' Trailer Is Here To Collect What You Owe

It probably comes as no surprise I’m excited about a Scott Adkins movie. In fact, The Debt Collector landed on my most anticipated movies list for 2018. But now we have a trailer, and it’s not only suitably badass to fit in the cinematic martial artist’s resume, it takes him to places he doesn’t usually go. Check it out below.

Scott Adkins Is An Assassin-Fighting Assassin In 'Accident Man' Trailer

When you think comic book movies, you probably think dudes in tights and sky portals and that sort of nonsense. But there are also things like crews of assassins to be found on the funny book pages, which is just what we get from this Accident Man trailer. To be fair, that’s not why I’m psyched about this movie. I’m psyched about this because of Scott Adkins. He’s one of the baddest dudes on the planet, this is one of his passion projects, and he’s not only stars, he co-wrote the script.

'Triple Threat' Trailer: Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Tiger Chen, Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, JeeJa Yanin...

Triple Threat is all of my favorite things wrapped up in one convenient package. Action, martial arts, gunplay. Oh, and it stars every cinematic badass currently working. The credits include Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Tiger Chen, Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, JeeJa Yanin, Michael Wong, Michael Bisping, and Celina Jade. I hope I didn’t forget anyone, but I may have, the list is long and distinguished. As you may imagine, I’m beyond excited for Triple Threat, and that anticipation just took another huge leap forward with the first trailer. Check it out after the jump.

Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Tiger Chen, Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, And Michael Bisping Are Making A Movie Together

Cinematic face-breakers Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and Tiger Chen have been trying to work on a film together for a while now. They had Makeshift Squad, billed as an “Asian Expendables,” lined up, but that has yet to materialize. After that, we heard reports of Triple Threat, to be directed by John Wick: Chapter 2 helmer Chad Stahelski. That also failed to get off the starting blocks. But the trio of preeminent movie martial artists are back at it again, reportedly attached to a new project, also titled Triple Threat, and they’re bringing reinforcements in the form of Scott Adkins, Michael Jai White, and UFC Middleweight champion Michael Bisping. Yeah, It’s like they asked me what I want in a movie and did exactly what I said. It almost brings a tear to my eye it’s so beautiful.

'Savage Dog' Trailer: Watch Scott Adkins And Marko Zaror Pummel 1950s Goons In The Jungle

This probably isn’t surprising to anyone, but I’ve kept a close eye on the Scott Adkins/Marko Zaror-starring action joint Savage Dog since the first rumblings. Come on, it stars Scott Adkins and Marko Zaror. That alone is enough to make me watch anything. I’d watch them sitting around drinking coffee and chatting about the weather. Fortunately, there’s way more to Savage Dog than that, as confirmed by this new trailer.

Scott Adkins And Marko Zaror Team Up To Pummel Dudes In 'Savage Dog'

If you haven’t had any good news yet today (that Michael B. Jordan/Black Panther news is pretty sweet), don’t worry, I have some for you. Two of the baddest dudes currently working in movies, ScottAdkins and Marko Zaror, are getting back together for a movie called Savage Dog. There’s not actually much more to tell, but god damn, isn’t that enough for you?
