'Don't Breathe' Trailer Proves Stephen Lang Is Terrifying

It’s Friday the 13th, the spookiest day of the year, and what would this day be without a dab of new horror for all you little weirdoes out there? Well, Fede Alvarez (the Evil Dead remake) has got your back, and dropped the first trailer for his upcoming Don’t Breathe. Hit it up after the jump.

Admittedly, this trailer does feel like it gives away, well, most of the movie. A crew of amateur breaking and entering artists pick what they think will be an easy mark, the home of a blind loner. Things obviously do not go quite as planned, he’s way more badass than they expected, and they wind up being hunted through the dark. I’m sure there’s more to it, but that’s more than enough plot for me.

Don’t Breathe looks right up my alley. Tons of folks saw this premiere at SXSW earlier this year, and a few have been raving about how it’s the new second coming in horror. I don’t know about all that, but I’m down, I’m so down. It’s got a solid cast, including Jane Levy (Evil Dead), that kid from Goosebumps, and Stephen Lang (Avatar), who has really embraced his grizzled, genre elder statesman role as of late.

Don’t Breathe looks like a tense, panicked style of contained horror, and I can’t wait until it hits on August 26. That day is going on my calendar. And there’s a nice Cujo nod, what’s not to love?
